The Wall of Death(noun): The act of dividing an audience down the middle and then commanding them to charge at each other across the gapBraveheart-style, usually at a pivotal moment in a song. The result is a high-speed collision of bodies that makes regular moshing seem almost quaint. Its exciting, it can be dangerous, and on this years Warped Tour, its the perfect accompaniment to the extreme sonic violence meted out by the breakout bands dominating the festival lovingly nicknamed Punk-Rock Summer Camp.

Breaking Billboard Magazine's Top 200 Chart!

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. - June 16, 2010 - Knoxville's sons of death metal, WHITECHAPEL, have entered Billboard Magazine's Top 200 Chart at #43 with just under 10,700 albums sold of the band's highly anticipated album A New Era of Corruption. WHITECHAPEL's A New Era of Corruption also debuted at #2 on the Hard Music Core Stores Chart, #3 on the Independent Albums Chart, and #5 on the Hard Music Albums Chart. In addition to breaking the charts in the states, A New Era of Corruption also charted in Canada coming in at #70 on the Current Albums chart, #9 on the Indie chart, and #8 on the Hard chart. A New Era of Corruption marks the band's 3rd full-length album and 2nd for Metal Blade Records. Knoxville, Tennessee'sis pleased to release the cover art and track listing for their third full-length release, A New Era of Corruption due out June 8th viaMetal Blade Records. "The album is finally 100% complete and we couldn't be more excited. I think this record truly represents where we are as musicians at this point in our career. A New Era of Corruption is the heaviest and most aggressive material we have written to date," comments guitarist and founding member Alex Wade. Alex continues: "Some of you may notice that the title of the new record, A New Era of Corruption, is a line from the song 'Possession' off of our last album This Is Exile. We wanted to name the CD this to bring a little flavor from 'This Is Exile' into the new CD, as well as I think the name represents this new age of extreme metal that we are currently rising in. The album is not a concept record like This Is Exile was. It just has its own general theme and each song deals with its own topic track by track."

Handling artwork for A New Era of Corruption isBrent Elliot Whitewho has also handled cover artwork for bands like Job For A Cowboy and Carnifex. "Brent handled the artwork for the record and absolutely nailed it. The dark and ominous vibe he portrayed with his art fits the mood of the CD perfectly," states Alex.

A New Era of Corruption features guest vocals fromVincent Bennettof The Acacia Strain on the track "Murder Sermon" andChino Morenofrom the Deftones on the track "Reprogrammed to Hate." Alex elaborates: "Vincent has been a long time friend of the band and we have always talked about him doing guest vocals on one of our records, so naturally his style of vocals fits our music perfectly and sounds great. We're honored to have Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno on our record. All of us are huge Deftones fans so it's pretty surreal for us. He absolutely killed his part on the album and it's everything I envisioned it would be. Plus it's cool that Chino was so opened minded to do vocals on something so extreme; I think that it sounds fantastic."

In support of the upcoming release of A New Era of Corruption, Whitechapel is hitting the road to play about 30 dates, most of which are with labelmates Job for a Cowboy and Cattle Decapitation including stops at the New England Metal & Hardcore fest and the California Metal fest. Then come the summer, Whitechapel will be on the road as a part of the Vans Warped Tour Twenty Ten.

"We have some killer tours coming up in support of the new record, the first one being with Job For A Cowboy and the second one being Vans Warped Tour. The JFAC tour will be cool as it will be in smaller rooms with a more intimate setting with the fans. This is something we haven't done in a very long time so it will be awesome to go back and do some shows like that. Then we will be doing the complete opposite and playing to thousands of people a day on the Vans Warped Tour so we are very excited and honored to be a part of that."

Last but certainly not least, Whitechapel is set to film their first music video for the track "The Darkest Day of Man" off of A New Era of Corruption. WHITECHAPEL enters Audiohammer Studios to record follow up to This Is Exile

Just home from touring with Trivium and Chimaira and closing out an extremely busy and successful year, TennesseesWHITECHAPELare now set to head into the studio December 27th to January 31st with infamous metal producerJason Suecof(Trivium, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira, DevilDriver and many more).WHITECHAPEL are set to record the follow up to the bands crushing Metal Blade debut, This is Exile, at Jasons Orlando, FL based Audiohammer Studios.Be sure to stay tuned to Whitechapels and Metal Blades sites as more information regarding guest vocalists, studio updates, and video updates will be posted throughout the bands recording process.

Guitarist and founding member Alex Wade comments:
"We're really excited to announce that we will be hitting the studio in January with a producer who needs no introduction, Jason Suecof. Suecof has produced some of the most brutal metal albums to date and we are excited for him to get his hands on our new material to make it the heaviest music we've created thus far.

Also,Dusty Petersonhas been signed on to handle the artwork duties. His dark, yet meticulously detailed style of hand drawn artwork is sure to bring out a truly vivid and brutal masterpiece. We really wanted our artwork for the record to speak as loudly for us as the music we are creating, thus, Dusty was picked for his unbelievably realistic and detailed hand drawn style. This is Exile was unleashed on July 8th, 2008, and debuted at #118 on the Billboard top 200 charts, #2 on Billboards Top Heatseekers, and #14 on Billboards Top Independent albums.
